Large Medieval Crossbow  The European Crossbow of the Middle Ages saved many a Castle from siege. Crossbows were originally brought to England by the Normans and soon became an important historical weapon. They were used for warfare and for hunting and widely employed in England through the time of Elizabeth. Large crossbows were more powerful than any longbow and unlike their light counterparts that were used in the field by armor clad soldiers, these giant crossbows were mainly used in the attack and defense of fortified places such as castles. We offer these two exceptional reproductions of Castle Defense Crossbows that are made in Italy and although we consider them wonderful historical display pieces, they have functional parts. The William Wallace Claymore Sword Wallace Claymore: Sir The William Wallace Sword  The earliest Scottish clansmen were strong and fearless. They wielded large swords with a simple yet powerful design. One of these legends was a man named William Wallace, who could have carried an early Scottish claymore sword just as this in battle. The claymore sword started with this early design and predates the very recognizable clover design of claymores later in history. For the brave of heart, the blade is 1-3/4" wide and 42-1/2" long.
