Medieval Decorative Mace
The mace was a popular weapon of the medieval age and has a more remote antiquity than any other weapon. The earliest form of this weapon commenced in the Stone Age alongside the war club and eventually evolved through the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. It was in use by the Egyptians, Assyrians and throughout the East and developed into the style we recognize now. A metal spiked ball upon a shaft with grip. It continued as a choice weapon in which one was able to direct blows until the sixteenth century. If you would like a piece of history for your own, this mace made in Italy is for you! |
