Medieval War Hammer

War Hammer - is a melee weapon intended for close combat. The weapon was available in different sizes. The most often used war hammer was similar in size to regular mace and the largest was similar in size to a halberd, these war hammers were called bec de corbin. War hammers were very effective against plate armor as they were able to deliver and transfer the full energy to the target. Swords and other bladed weapons could only deliver glancing blows and therefore were not as effective against armor. War hammer could puncture the knight's armor when hit with the thinner, spiked end of the hammer's head. The Fury of Battle comes alive! War Club

This is the "original" ancient weapon! Small quantities of metal produced by crude mining techniques of the times were put to effective use by ancient metal smiths in battle weaponry such as the War Club. Long before swords were popular, this weapon had been widely used throughout ancient cultures during war and was very effective during the ages predating full suit armor. The Rittersteel War Club is Hand crafted. Overall length approximately 25". Blackened iron bands and pointed studs are secured on a seared wood handle.

This war hammer is the real thing! Hand-crafted. The overall length is about 29". The blackened iron hammer head and spike with hand wrought iron on a blackened and seared wood handle is menacing. Looks like it should be behind glass in a museum! This weapon was very affective against full armor.

Decorative War Mallet

The "Martel-de-Fer" or War Mallet is a very special ancient weapon following the medieval mace in antiquity. Also referred to as a war hammer, it was a favored weapon of both horse and foot soldiers during the 14th and 15th centuries and in fact medieval archers were often depicted with the war mallet in drawings of the age and seemed to prefer this weapon to the sword. Reverse Blade Sword Katana

Another RitterSteel^®first - a genuine, fully functional Reverse Blade Sword! We have created an authentic Japanese style reverse blade katana featuring the traditional hand braided diamond pattern cord wrap upon a shimmering silver fabric with four dragon menuki inset. The blackened steel tsuba and pommel are hand pounded. The sharp functional high carbon steel reverse blade is mounted with a traditional copper habaki which attests to its quality. The scabbard on this reverse blade sword is hand made from wood, and covered in rich black leather.

For those unfamiliar with the reverse blade sword, the sharp side is opposite where you would normally expect it, while the normal cutting side, is the wide unsharpened portion of the blade. The idea behind this is when striking your opponent as you would with a normal sword, the opponent would be stunned when hit by the reverse blade, not cut. As this reverse blade katana is a real sword, great care should be taken as hitting someone could cause serious injury, even death! This is a real sword not a toy!

The RitterSteel^® high carbon steel reverse blade is hand pounded and forged over hot coals, using many of the original techniques passed down through the generations of ancient sword smiths. Each tsuba and end cap is individually hand cast in steel with a traditional solid copper habaki hand fitted to each 27" long, 1-5/16" wide steel blade. The overall length of the reverse blade sword is 38". The diameter of the tsuba is 3-1/2". The weight of the reverse blade sword is about 2-3/4 lbs, the sheath is about 3/4lbs.The workmanship put into each sword attests to each sword being an authentically functional original work of art! While others have tried to imitate, none can duplicate these quality swords, so insist only on the Original RitterSteel^® swords, if you want the very best!
