Wearable Cuirass (Breastplate & Backplate)
The cuirass was originally a breastplate made of leather. Later, the cuirass was made of bronze and steel. The name cuirass encompasses both backplate and breastplate. Both, breastplate and backplate were fastened together with straps and buckles. This is an armour style spanning many centuries providing protection to the vital chest & back areas while allowing freedom of movement to the arms and legs so crucial during combat. |
