Chainmail Armor |
Each incredible chainmail shirt (hauberk) and coif is painstakingly and skillfully created by hand using 7/16" inner diameter rings. Our Valiant Arms craftsman use the most popular European style called 4 into 1. Each circular link intersects with four others, to form a continuous blanket of metal ring protection. Like the originals the wire for our steel chain mail is traditional mild steel, which tends to bend when struck, absorbing the blow, rather than shattering, as hardened steels do. |
Butted Chainmail Coifs and Hauberks |
| The butted chainmail rings are made by closing the ends of each individual ring and pushing them close together. The ring stays closed from springiness of the steel. Put on your chainmail Hauberk and Coif and head off to the next renaissance fair! | |

Riveted Chainmail Armor Coifs and Hauberks |
| Amazingly our Valiant Arms craftsman have the ends of each chainmail ring overlap each other and flattened. A hole is then put through the flatten section, and then the ring is riveted closed! This is to prevent the separation of links, and is styled in the European 4 into 1 ring fashion just like museum originals! Choose from the traditional medieval steel style, or aluminum for modern light weight comfort. You can marvel at the original riveted chainmail in museums or get your own fantastic creation, fully wearable and very historical. | |
