This is a must for everyone looking for a REAL functional Scottish dirk  made just like the historical originals! Our RitterSteel  Scottish Dirk has a solid hand cast brass handle and is engraved on the haunches and the underside of pommel framing its form in simple elegant lines. Each masterfully crafted blade of high carbon steel is authentically hand forged over hot coals and bears a single edge fuller for strength. The overall length of this Scottish Dirk is 19", the blade 13-1/2".

Many of the fine examples of Scottish dirks found in museum collections today bear the name or clan symbol of its owner and in keeping with tradition... our stunning handle of brass is topped with a flat top pommel suitable for engraving.  A fine original example of this dagger can be found in the Glasgow Museum and is only available for view... however you now also can own a true historically styled Scottish dirk as those carried by the brave and proud highlanders of history.  The perfect companion to our RitterSteel Scottish Great Claymore Sword.

The stylish guard is made of hand-cast solid brass as is the beautiful octagon pommel depicting the symbol of God: The Crusaders Cross! The grip is made of polished ebony. Black leather over wood sheath included. Blade: 1-1/4"W x 27"L. Overall length 36".

Claymore - the word claymore comes from Scottish Gaelic meaning "very big sword". The term may refer to two types of swords where one is the large two handed one with cross hilt and to the basket-hilt broadsword that was used by the Scottish Highlanders. The two-handed, large claymore was used during the medieval times during battles between the Scottish clans and against the English. Our Scottish claymore sword by Stage Steel features blunt-edged sword blade. This kind of sword is perfect for practicing sword combat or for theatrical and SCA re-enactment. Blade is 2" wide by 44" long. Overall length: 57" (no sheath included).

This sgian dubh feels good in your hand, seems very well made. My only complaint would be the blade did not have the point the picture showed. However it does hold a good edge and I like the more realistic look of the knife. It looks more like something a Scot would have actually worn. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.
