Matthew Bennett

Matthew Bennett MA, FSA, FRHistS, has been a senior lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst since 1984. He went to King's College London completing a first degree in History and an MA in Medieval History. It was while at King's that the late Professor R. Allen Brown enthused him with an interest in the study of medieval warfare. This bore fruit in 1996, with the publication of the Cambridge Atlas of Warfare: The Middle Ages 768-1487 (co-written with former King's student Nicholas Hooper). Matthew has also published many academic articles on chivalric and crusader warfare.
